THE WORK

Over the last 2 decades, Emily has created more than 150 works for stage and site-specific performance, working with dancers amateur and professional, actors, and improvisers ages 8 - 85.

Before Graduating in 2008 with her BFA from Columbia College Chicago, Emily was a recipient for a Weisman Award to produce her choreography. Emily had her professional choreographic debut with Love Songs for the _____ _____ Hearted, her second full-length evening work, in August of 2008 at Hamlin Park Fieldhouse Chicago, IL.

She has since gone on to choreograph 3 more evening lengths pieces as well as a 25 - 40 minute piece for her advanced students for the past 6 years each Spring.

Emily’s choreography has been performed at Dixon Place NY, Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, Hamlin Park Fieldhouse Chicago, Links Hall, San Diego Dance Theater White Box, The Lyceum Theatre in San Diego, Malashock Studios in San Diego, The Vine Theater San Diego. Emily’s work has been both self-produced and presented as part of festivals and split bills in all three cities.

Emily also makes SPACE for fellow dance makers through two fledgeling yearly presenting programs in San Diego. These programs offer free space to artists and the opportunity to make and show work, receive critical feedback, and get compensated.

These opportunities are FRESH DANCES and SHARED SPACES

Emily often also collaborates with the Roger Anderson Chorale Arts Consort and the beautiful dancers in her community to bring dance, live chorale performance, and live music to North County and San Diego audiences for free.
